Ride and Slide at Michigan's Adventure and WildWater Adventure
Sometimes when it's cold and snowy in Michigan, we find ourselves daydreaming about warmer weather. Sure, we love a brisk hike along the frosty Lakeshore Trail or a heart-racing luge ride at Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park. But thoughts of Lake Michigan's warm summer breezes have us longing for sunnier days.
Muskegon is a summer playground for vacationers, and it's never too early to start planning activities for your next getaway to The Pidge Inn. And if you love the thrilling rides and slides of amusement and water parks, you'll want to add Michigan's Adventure and WildWater Adventure to your itinerary.
From its modest beginnings in 1956, Michigan's Adventure has grown to become the largest amusement park in the state. Together with WildWater Adventure, these parks boast 60 rides, slides and attractions for the whole family. Yet the parks are small enough that you can hit most of the Michigan’s Adventure rides and enjoy some waterslides without feeling rushed.
Michigan's Adventure, located just 30 minutes north of The Pidge Inn, is part of the Cedar Fair family of amusement parks. Rollercoaster enthusiasts will love the park's seven coasters, especially the classic wooden coaster, Shivering Timbers, that takes riders a half-mile out and a half-mile back in just two minutes and 30 seconds, and Thunderhawk, Michigan's first suspended looping coaster. Plus you'll find plenty of classic amusement park rides like the tilt-a-whirl, carousel, scrambler, giant gondola wheel, log flume and more.
Remember, your admission ticket gets you not one but two parks! WildWater Adventure was added in 1990, and is an absolute treat on hot summer days. Park goers will find towering water slides, tidal wave pools, a relaxing lazy river and more. The Funnel of Fear is one of WildWater Adventure's feature slides, where four thrill-seekers share a raft, jettison down a completely enclosed tunnel, and emerge in a colorful swirling funnel before ultimately landing in the pool below.
Michigan's Adventure opens Memorial Day weekend for the 2023 season, while WildWater Adventure opens later in June. When you book your stay at The Pidge Inn, we can recommend where to get discounted tickets and offer a place to rest your head after a thrilling, splashtacular, fun-filled day.
